About Us

Our Story

The HomeChord Collective is a community interest company that believes in the power of music to enrich the

lives of young learners. We do this without barriers, free of charge and regardless of abiltiy.

Our programs are inclusive and supportive, fostering a love of music while meeting the individual needs of

home-educated children.

Founded by local musician and guitar tutor Steve Gomm, HomeChord was born from years of experience and a deep understanding of the home education journey. As a father of four home-educated children, Steve recognised the power of music as both a learning tool and a social bridge. His goal: to make music education freely available to every home-educated child.

At present, The HomeChord Collective may be the only completely cost-free music education group in the South East —

 perhaps even the UK.

Every single penny we raise goes directly toward benefiting the local community — especially home-educating families.

We’re steadily growing our pool of guitars so students can borrow instruments for as long as they need them. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn music, and we’re committed to supporting them throughout their journey.
